Inganekwane ♡ My stories

For families

Make room for a story.

A few quiet minutes, a voice you know, and a little imagination. That is all it takes to share a story.

Read together, at your own pace

Let children enjoy the tale without testing them. Pause when they want to ask a question, look at a picture or try a name. The optional story play can be skipped completely.

Keep the names close

The stories are in English, with isiNdebele character names and cultural words kept in the telling. Tap an underlined name or word in the reader to discover its meaning. You can also explore Words to Discover together.

Kindness is never the fault

Our first tale includes deception, threats and a creature being chased away. Buhlaluse is not responsible for Mbulu taking advantage of her kindness. Talk about who a child can trust and ask for help when someone frightens them.

A little conversation afterwards

What did Gogo notice? How did it feel when someone listened to Buhlaluse’s song? Which moment would you like to tell again? There is no need to rush to the next story.
